Thank god the school year is almost over. I'm as ready for the end as they are. As always I am going to be sad to see my seniors go. Overall, I had a pretty great group.
Prom is soon so that is what all the students are concerned with. I will be one of the chaperones for the evening. I think I will have an enjoyable time though. I know some of my colleagues are not exactly looking forward to it.

I was thinking if you had time, we could go out to dinner tonight. What do you think? Maybe a movie even, if you can fit that much fun in one night. ;)

A few of my colleagues did not make it into work today. I would put money on it that they were far too hung over to function. Some students were out too. And a lot of my boys that did show were just buzzing about the game. It was hard to regain their attention. Worse than Christmas or summer vacation. I'm not getting my hopes up that tomorrow will be any easier.

Another shooting at Virginia Tech. Thank God this one did not match the magnitude of the one from a few years ago. I just hope its never something me or my students ever have to be subjected to. Though it would be a lie to say that I don't worry about it sometimes. Those kids have probably been troubled for a little while and no ones stopped to make a difference. I always try to stress that to my students. Especially when I witness bullying. You never know what could affect a person. No matter how big or small an act of kindness or hazing may seem the impact onto someone else could be much greater. You just don't know.

It's been a long day. I had to cover detention hall tonight. Then some food shopping. Time to reheat something from the fridge.

It was a really great year and they were an awesome bunch. I hope everyone celebrated and was safe, of course.
Graduation went well! Everyone was dressed so nicely. The ceremony was really beautiful. I'm going to miss all my seniors.
